Engagement session in Raleigh, NC

With our wedding collections, we offer an engagement session as a complimentary booking bonus to each couple who books within one week of their inquiry. We want to give each couple the opportunity to have an engagement session because it is such an important part of your experience as a TR Couple!

During your engagement session, you’ll have the chance to get to know me and Christopher, experience how we approach photography, and how we handle posing and lighting. This session will make a HUGE impact on how the wedding day flows.

We will arrive on your wedding day already knowing how you two interact, what your best poses are, and learn how to photograph you in a genuine way! You will feel like such a pro on your big day because of the great practice you had during your engagement session!

However, I know that each couple has some common concerns about engagement sessions so allow us to put your mind at ease below:

Engagement Session in Raleigh, North Carolina

1. “We don’t know how to pose.”

While this is a valid concern, Christopher and I want you to know that we have your back. With a decade of experience, we have learned how to pose you in a way that is comfortable and feels genuine to who you both are as a couple. So not only will we tell you exactly where to place your hands, how to stand, and where to look, we will also make sure you look awesome while doing it!

2. “We don’t know where to have the shoot.”

Upon booking, we will send over a getting to know you questionnaire. IWewill pull snippets from this questionnaire to help us plan an engagement session that is perfectly customized to you and your fiancé! Was your first date at a specific coffee shop? Perhaps we can shoot the session there. Is there a park the two of you frequent? Let’s shoot there!

If there isn’t a specific location that is sentimental to who you are as a couple, that’s ok! We will also see what your vision is for the session. Whether you’re wanting a garden setting, a park, something rustic, or the beach- we promise you we are full of ideas to make it happen!

3. “I don’t think I’m very photogenic.”

Would you like to hear some good news? None of our couples think they’re photogenic, but because we know how to use lighting to our advantage, pose you in such a way that is comfortable, and have mastered using the camera we are able to capture you at your absolute best!

4. “My fiance’ hates photos.”

Oftentimes, grooms dislike photos because they’re not sure what to do. With our posing system, we help to eliminate that so that you and your fiance can feel relaxed and just enjoy each other’s presence. You’ll find that your engagement session will feel like a date, and our grooms often walk away from their session with us telling their fiance “Hey, that was actually fun!”

To make the occasion even better for your groom, go out afterwards to his favorite date spot- whether that be a restaurant, coffee shop, or sports bar. It will give him something fun to look forward to afterwards also!

5. “We don’t know what to wear!”

Upon booking you will receive a Wedding Planning Survival Guide in the mail that has a section dedicated to engagement session outfits. This guide is loaded with tons of tips and tricks for your outfits as well as pictures for inspiration! We also always tell couples, they’re more than welcome to text us pictures of outfit ideas while they’re out shopping. We are happy to help however we can!

I certainly know that having an engagement session can seem daunting at first, but I hope I was able to put your mind at ease when it comes to your common concerns about engagement sessions!
