Here in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area we are sooo very fortunate to have an abundance of beautiful locations for pictures. Today, I’m going to share with you some of my very favorite spots throughout the Triangle for engagement sessions! I hope this list will be helpful to you as you start planning out your engagement session!
The Capitol Building is GORGEOUS no matter the time of year! The columns, architecture, stately oak trees, and winding walkways truly make it an iconic spot for pictures. When you finish your shoot make sure to stop by The Pit or Beasley’s Chicken and Honey for dinner!
This one of my favorite spots for pictures in the spring and early summer. In the spring time, there are lots of azaleas in bloom (duh!). However, in early summer there are also many hydrangeas in bloom too! If you’re loving the idea of lots of flowers in your photos, this is perfect for you!
I love the American Tobacco Campus because it truly offers a lot of variety! You will find lots of brick, some cool murals, twinkle lights, and a gorgeous waterfall here! If you’re a fan of industrial architecture, then this would be a great spot for your pictures! Make sure to stop by one the many tasty restaurants Durham’s food scene has to offer! One our favorites is Elmo’s
The arboretum is gorgeous any time of the year, but especially in the spring and summer. I love the variety of flowers-especially the rose garden! You’ll also have access to beautiful weeping willow trees and open fields here!
You do have to pay a fee to get into Duke Gardens, but it’s worth it for the scenery! Duke Gardens offers so many options for florals! There’s also a pond with a weeping willow tree that I LOVE! Probably my favorite offering of Duke Gardens though is the foundation at the entrance!
Downtown Raleigh has so much to offer if you’re a fan of urban scenery! There are several murals scattered throughout downtown, the Boylan Bridge enables you to get the entire skyline in view, or you can stop in one of the coffee shops and have some photos made! You’ll have so many options here!
I discovered how beautiful NC State’s Campus is since a few of my bride’s are alumni. There’s lots of greenery, gorgeous brick, and some fun modern architecture here!
I love Historic Oak View any time of year, but especially in the fall! This park also requires reservations, and they book up fast so keep that in mind! If you love the idea of white barns, picket fences, and beautiful foliage then Historic Oak View is for you!
I hope this list of Raleigh-Durham’s best engagement session location spots was helpful for you as you plan your own engagement session!
