Caleb and Olivia are one of the sweetest couples you will ever meet! I was super excited when they reached out to me about photographing their Fuquay-Varina, NC wedding. They met online through Bumble, had a somewhat long-distance relationship, got engaged in Italy, and had their dream wedding planned, but God had a different plan for them during this time.
About a month and a half prior to the wedding, Olivia started having some health concerns which ultimately led to her discovering she had chiari malformation. She was going to have brain surgery about a month before their wedding. All of this was occurring as the spread of coronavirus was ramping up here in North Carolina. Her surgery was one of the last ones before everything started to close down.
They weren’t going to be able to go on their honeymoon to Italy because of everything going on. Then, they found out they weren’t going to be able to move forward with their dream wedding because of coronavirus and other unforeseen circumstances. Having to move a wedding is devastating enough, not to mention everything going on health wise too. But ya’ll, this couple has handled everything so gracefully.
Even though they couldn’t currently move forward with their wedding plans, they decided to have a micro wedding at Caffe Luna in Downtown Raleigh, NC on their original date. At the end of the day, their love was more important than anything else. This plan was so special because this is where their first date was! Olivia had just gotten off work and was wearing her scrubs while she said Caleb was dressed to the nines looking like “The Bachelor”, but even so sparks flew on that first date!
I am so excited to celebrate with these two again later on down the road when they do get have their picture perfect wedding!
