FALL TRADITIONS FOR COUPLES!

October 6, 2021

The weather is turning (slightly) cooler, and the leaves are starting to take on shades of red, orange, and yellow. Fall is certainly in the air! As a newlywed couple, I remember it being a little overwhelming trying to come up with traditions that we wanted to establish as our own unique couple. So today, I’m going to share some fun ideas for fall traditions for couples! Some of these we have implemented into our own marriage, and as we’ve grown our family they have still stuck!

GO PICK APPLES OR PUMPKINS TOGETHER

In the Raleigh-Durham area, we have so many fun options for pumpkin patches. Some offer yummy treats, some offer corn mazes in addition to pumpkin picking, so whatever your cup of tea (or cider) is you have options! For apple picking that’s local to our area, I recommend checking out Millstone Creek Orchards in Ramseur!

HAVE A BAKING DAY

Perhaps you can use the apples or pumpkins you picked on your date, and have fun making and eating some baked goods together! Each year, we love to indulge in some pumpkin bread with a gooey cream cheese filled center (so yummy!). There are so many scrumptious recipes online for apple and pumpkin based goodies, so you have tons of options!

HAVE A MOVIE MARATHON

We all have those movies from our childhood that bring back all the nostalgia! For Christopher and I, the Harry Potter series does that as well as Hocus Pocus! Every fall, we do a movie marathon with our favorites! We’ll order some takeout and a fall themed dessert and enjoy ourselves!

GO LEAF PEEPING

Whether you decide to take a trip to the beautiful North Carolina mountains or go for a drive in our neck of the woods here in Raleigh, you can find some gorgeous fall foliage. On your way out, stop by your favorite coffee shop and pick up a PSL to enjoy as you two drive!

HAVE A CANDY APPLE CONTEST

A great way to involve friends in on the fun is to host a candy apple contest together. Get all the caramel, m&m’s, sprinkles, and other goodies then see who can come up with the tastiest combination. Afterwards, you can enjoy all the different combinations and have a game night or movie night with your crew!

If we’re being completely honest, this time of year is probably my favorite! There are so many ways you can get festive with this season, and I hope these are helpful as you two begin to figure out what fall traditions you want to implement as a couple!
