As December rain pattered against the windows of the beautiful estate venue, Matt and Morgan nervously awaited their wedding at the Sutherland in Wake Forest, NC. But just before they were set to exchange vows, the clouds parted and the sun peeked through, casting a warm glow over the celebration.
The First Looks
Early in the day, Morgan shared a special first look with her father and brother, both of whom were clearly overjoyed to see her in her stunning wedding dress from Simply Blush Bridal. However, Matt’s reaction during the couple’s first look truly stole the show. As he caught a glimpse of his beautiful bride, he was overcome with emotion, and tears of joy streamed down his face.
The Ceremony for their Sutherland Estate Wedding
The groom’s 94-year-old grandfather officiated the ceremony. He has had the honor of officiating each of his grandchildren’s weddings with Matt being the last grandchild. As the couple exchanged heartfelt vows, their loved ones looked on, basking in the warmth of the moment.
The bridesmaids added a touch of sophistication to the occasion with their classic black velvet dresses, and the reception was filled with twinkling lights and live music. Later, guests were treated to a hot cocoa station and cozy lounge furniture, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere.
