As Raleigh, NC Wedding photographer, one of my favorite locations to shoot in our area is downtown! There’s something almost magical to me about all the skyscrapers and the hustle and bustle of the city. I especially love our State Capitol and think it has such beautiful architecture so when Josh and Emily mentioned they were wanting a more urban location for their engagement session, I knew this area would fit their personalities perfectly!
Josh and Emily happened to meet on a night out with friends. Josh and been working and event at the PNC arena, and Emily happened to attend that same event on that weeknight. Afterwards, both of them went out for drinks with their friends. Emily caught Josh’s eye, and he knew she was interested by the way her and her friend kept looking at him. Actually, they were just trying to figure out which celebrity they thought Josh looked like 😉 Anyways, Josh decided to go strike up a conversation with Emily ,and he asked for her number. She almost gave him a fake number because she was unsure of meeting someone out and about. I’m sure now that Josh is about to become her husband, she’s REALLY glad she gave him the right number. Soon after that meeting, they went out on their first date. The rest is history.
Josh proposed to Emily at home with their pups nearby. He knew that doing something at home would be the best way to surprise her. So the morning after her CrossFit competition, he popped the question. Christopher and I both have really enjoyed getting to know these two as we’ve gone throughout the wedding process with them. They’re both sooo sweet, and we can’t wait for their August wedding at the Highgrove Estate in Fuquay Varina, NC.
