RALEIGH-DURHAM, NC SUMMER DATE NIGHT IDEAS

Awhile back, we shared some of our favorite date night ideas for the springtime here in the Raleigh-Durham area. This post was super well received, so we thought, let’s share some ideas for the summer too! While we haven’t done all of these, yet, they are definitely on our list to work on through the rest of July and August! They would be a lot of fun for an entire family too 🙂

1. GO KAYAKING

 While I have never actually been kayaking before, it is on our summer bucket list. We’ve been thinking about going kayaking for awhile so we decided to make it happen this summer! We’re looking at either The Robertson Millpond Preserve in Wendell, NC or Falls Lake.

2. WATCH A SUNRISE OR SUNSET

Who likes free? Yeah, so do we! We’re always so busy and never take time to slow down and just enjoy pretty things like nature. So we decided we were gonna watch a sunrise and sunset together this summer. We will add a cup of iced coffee and be set! I think we will try to make this one happen when we go to the beach in a few weeks 🙂

3. GO TO A BASEBALL GAME

  Growing up in Durham, it’s basically tradition to go to a Durham Bulls Game in the summer time! There’s nothing like munching on a hot dog and sipping on an ice cold Coco Cola with your love while watching a game 🙂 Plus, some nights there are fireworks- which was another one of our summer bucket list items!

4. CATCH FIREFLIES

….or lighting bugs as we affectionately call them in the South. This is one of my favorite summer traditions dating all the way back to childhood. Me and my Grannybird would catch them all summer long whenever I’d spend a weekend at her house. Pretty sure these are the only bugs I am not afraid of 😉

5. GET A SNO-BALL FROM PELICAN’S

We have done this some already this summer, and I’m sure we will indulge a bit more as the summer continues. I love Pelican’s Sno-balls! We have one about five-ten minutes from our house which is perfect. Also, they have locations all over the Triangle 🙂
