I have known Taylor for years since my brother-in-law was once her youth pastor. So when she reacher out about photographing her and Justin’s wedding I was SUPER excited! These two have an especially unique story, and I am so honored to be able to capture it.

About a year ago, Justin was diagnosed with Leukemia. He received treatments through Duke. The doctors promptly started chemo to try to send the cancer into remission. In order to perform a bone marrow transplant, Justin’s cancer had to be in remission. He underwent a second round of treatments. Justin also had to find a match for the bone marrow transplant. As things turned out his brother was a perfect match. During the late summer, Justin’s leukemia went into remission. The doctors rapidly worked to prepare Justin for the stem cell transplant over the next few weeks. Although this process didn’t come without its challenges, Justin is doing much better now.

Justin is a pilot, so he and Taylor knew they wanted to include this in their engagement session, and I love how these images turned out! Aren’t they gorgeous? Please enjoy some of my favorites!
